Cost of living in Quito, Ecuador: shopping at the farmer market. December 2018.

There is one of the biggest farmer markets in Quito within walking distance of my apartment building.
On my recent shopping trip at the market I came home with two bags worth of chicken, pork, fish, shrimp and fruits and only spent $34 bucks. I usually get my shopping from the same merchants.

That is how fish (and pork and poultry) sold at this market, without refrigeration.
Fruit stands at my favorite market.

The whole fish $7

 This fillet fish cost $5

Shrimp: one pound $5

Chicken $1.30 per pound

Pork $2.50 per pound
Pineapple $1.50

Pomegranate $1
Pack of blueberries, $1.50, that I bought on this trip to the market were consumed before I had a chance to take picture.

Total for the items above $34

2 bedroom, 1 bath, totally remodeled
Centro Historico furnished apartment for sale.
Anti-noise windows in both bedrooms
