Cost of living in Quito. October 2017.

It's the beginning of October in Quito and the weather is the same as in July or January. More or less. The sun shines, the dress code is flats, t-shirt, light jacket and jeans.
I had to go to the Hospital Vozandes in the morning, to do some lab tests.
Taxi ride from my place to Hospital, about 20 min - $4.

Cost of lab tests:
HDL Colesterol                    $5.99
Hemoglobina Glicosilada     $20
LDL Colesterol Normal C.E. $6.65
Glucosa Normal                   $3.57
Trigliceridos                          $3.90
Total:                                    $40.11
On my receipt they provided website, user name and password so I could check out and print the results online. The results of my lab tests were available after 4 p.m. on the same day.
On a way back I stopped at the tienda (little neighborhood store) and bought some fruits: peaches, plums and litlle bananas. My total was $2.25
