another Quote from Craigslist Ecuador
Needed for Family in Quito near "la mariscal " or nearby.
find a good furnished 2 bedroom apartment before we arrive. We will be in Quito
beginning of March. Budget is
tight, want to see what is out there.
end of quote It is
mathematically and realistically impossible to have in Quito:
a good furnished 2 bedroom apartment
In a safe
neighborhood (there are no such thing as a safe neighborhood in Ecuador, by the way) Close to public transportation
price, $250 - $350 per month.
furnishing, bedding, household items are more expensive in Ecuador than in US.
To fully equip two bedroom apartment would cost at least five thousands or
of $5000 for five years
$83.5 per month
fee from $20 to $100 monthly(average $60), depends on type of apartment
including internet $80 -$100 monthly
Total landlord expenses monthly:
$84 plus $60(average association fee)
plus $90 (average utilities) = $234
Cleaning for every guest - $20 for the cleaning person, $5 for supplies, etc
per year, at least $100, sometimes more.
And I even
didn't include acquisition cost of apartment. Cost of apartments in Quito went
up tremendously: almost tripled since 2007 because cost of labor and construction
materials doubled, tripled since 2007.
