Mayor of Quito and Quitonia festival 2014. Quito Ecuador. November 2014.
When Jesse "The Body" Ventura was elected as governor of Minnesota in November 1998, the slogan "My governor can beat up your governor" was popular in Minnesota, where I used to live for 15 years.
Well, 16 years later, here I am in Quito, and I can say that our major (El Alcalde de Quito, Ecuador) is more charismatic, hip* and younger than mayor of your city!
Mayor of Quito, Mauricio Rodas, announced this event through a press conference:
"We have organized Quitonía 2014 in record time and fulfilling our campaign offer to re-launch the Fiestas de Quito with an international festival. We make a call to the Quito to take ownership of the Festival Quitonia 2014 so that it becomes a symbol of Quito", he said.
During days of Quito 2014, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the singer Sting, one of the most recognized artists worldwide, will be main attraction of the Quitonia festival, which will be held in Parque Bicentenario.
