Colors of my neighborhood. Quito, Ecuador. June 2014.

In Quito almost every site has a fence. Apartment buildings, churches, houses, office buildings, etc. are almost all fenced/walled. Sometimes there are electric fences, broken glass, metal spikes and other serious anti-climb measures on top of the fences. But Quiteños do have fun with the color of the walls, roofs and buildings.
Recently one of the walls in our barrio was painted in dark-ish blue. When me and my westie Sashka are out for a walk, we have very colorful choice:  turning left we go along the blue wall of the textile factory, turning right bring us to the sunny yellow color of the fence of neighboring apartment complex.
Roof of the next door building is faded turquoise color, there are some buildings painted in different shades of yellow and orange, red-beige combination, pinkish - greenish combination and what have you. It's mood lifting to look at.
Big difference from the "50 shades of beige and grey" landscape of Minneapolis.
