Flying first class from Quito to Minneapolis. June 2012.
We went to Minneapolis this June for my daughter's wedding. For Leo's sake, we bought business/first class airfare.
At first I was sad to part with $4100 for two round trip tickets Quito - Miami stopover - Minneapolis. Oh boy, how glad we were during our trip. It is a whole other word of first class out there. Not just time spent on-board. No standing in line - you go to the first class counter and breeze thru. In between the flights, we went to the Admiral's club (VIP area - included in the tickets) in Miami: no plastic chairs and dreadful airport atmosphere there, but nice quiet environment with internet access, computers, cushy chairs in separated lounges, newspapers, beverages, snacks, etc, etc.
Also, we could check, complimentary, three suitcases per person which came in very handy after our shopping spree in Minneapolis.
Monthly rental in Quito, for tourists and expats. We have a 2 bedroom, 1 bath totally remodeled Colonial Quito, furnished apartment for rent. For booking, pictures and more info http://quitorental.blogspot.com
