Changes in Ecuador since 2006 and beyond.

- Now there are much more cars in Quito than in 2006. Also, there are a lot of new constructions of apartment buildings last few years and they sell like hot cakes. So we can conclude, that lifestyle of middle class improved greatly from 2006.
These are my observations

Here are observations from people who live in Ecuador for decades, from the ExpatExchange forum.

Here is a comment on the "Old" Ecuador. When we opened our first business here many years ago, everyone told us to get several blank pieces of paper, and have the Employee "sign" their name with their I.D. #, at the bottom, in a place where your name might appear if you were perhaps "signing a confession!" YES! That was the only way that land owners, hacienda and factory owners, any employer at all, had any recourse. Several big places in the ares still do a version of this.

If the employee STOLE, then you would "fill in" the proper confession. Of course, we never did this, and this is a relic of the way things were done here in the past and way before pre-computer days.

I liked life here better before, there just did not seem to be as many problems, not as many people, not as many laws, when the cops didn't have to be college-educated, and everything didn't require 25 formularios and a small fortune... Greed was not as big because stakes were not as big like they are now.
